Sea freight services from Ho Chi Minh City to Chad ( Inland service from Cameroon to Chad)

Chad is a landlocked country in Central Africa, therefore international goods are usually transported through Cameroon ports and then further transported inland (inland service) into Chad.

We provide freight forwarding services from Vietnam to Chad via Douala or Kribi ports (Cameroon), combined with professional inland road transport, suitable for businesses exporting to the Central African market.

    1. Transportation Methods and Time

Because Chad has no seaports, goods must pass through ports in neighboring countries:

     Sea + Road (Most common):

    • Main transshipment port: Douala (Cameroon) is the main and most convenient transshipment port. Other ports could be Port Sudan, or even through Nigeria, but Douala is more popular.

    • Journey: Goods travel from Vietnamese ports to Douala (Cameroon) by sea (approximately 40-55 days), then are trucked for road transport to N'Djamena (capital of Chad) (an additional 7-15 days depending on road conditions and customs clearance).

    • Total time: Approximately 50 to 70 days.

     Air Freight:

    • Destination airport: N'Djamena International Airport (NDJ).

    • Time: Approximately 6 to 12 days. This method is fast but very expensive, suitable for high-value goods or samples.

    • Very expensive, suitable for high-value goods or samples.

    2. Required Documents and Procedures

The customs clearance process at both the transit port and in Chad requires attention to the following:

    • CTN/BESC (Cargo Tracking Note): Since the goods pass through the port of Douala (Cameroon), you are required to have a CTN/BESC certificate from Cameroon. Failure to obtain this document will result in heavy penalties.

    • Procedures in Chad: Separate import customs clearance is required in N'Djamena. A Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading (clearly stating the final destination as N'Djamena, Chad), and Certificate of Origin are required.

    • Goods Inspection (if applicable): Some goods may require quality inspection.
